A man who was shot by a woman during what authorities said was a dispute over a parking space at a North Lauderdale Walmart has died, officials said.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that 62-year-old D of Lauderhill died from his injuries.
The incident happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday outside the store at 7900 W. McNab Road.
A witness captured the shooting on a cell phone video and cameras from a nearby Tesla showed the fatal incident unfold.
Deputies responded and found D suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said D and a woman had been involved in a dispute over a parking space before she opened fire.
The woman stayed at the scene, cooperated with detectives and said the shooting was self-defense, officials said.
An investigation was ongoing and the case will be presented to the Broward State Attorney’s Office to determine whether the woman will face criminal charges, officials said.
