A 29-year-old Pensacola man was killed Sunday afternoon in an Escambia County crash.

Troopers say the crash happened at 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of New Warrington Road and Martha Avenue.

A sedan driven by a 22-year-old Pensacola man was traveling north on New Warrington Road and attempting a U-turn at Martha Avenue as the 29-year-old man driving his motorcycle approached southbound, according to FHP.

Troopers say the sedan driver “failed to see” the motorcycle and began the U-turn, and the front of the motorcycle struck the right side of the sedan.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest on the west shoulder about 90 feet from the point of impact, according to FHP.

The sedan driver suffered minor injuries.

No further details have been released.
