3 people arrested for DUI, 1 causes vehicle to go airborne, crash into train tracks

Three suspected drunk drivers were arrested in Martin County on Monday night, including one whose car went airborne before crashing onto a railroad crossing.

According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, road patrol deputies arrested three people in separate DUI cases Monday night. The most notable involved a rollover crash on North Dixie Highway. Witnesses told authorities the vehicle veered across the highway, went airborne and rolled over before crashing onto railroad tracks, damaging the crossing.

Deputies said the driver, D, failed a field sobriety test and was charged with DUI.

The second case involved P, 51. Deputies said they received reports of a reckless driver, which led them to P, who was arrested on a DUI charge.
