Pedestrian hit and killed while crossing Park Street in Riverside

A man crossing a street in the Riverside neighborhood has died after he was hit on Monday night.

JSO said a man in his 30s was walking across Park Street around 7 p.m. when the driver of an SUV didn’t notice him.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Police said the driver remained on the scene and cooperated.

No charges are pending for the driver at this time, according to JSO.

This marks the 116th traffic fatility in Duval County and the 28th incident involving a pedestrian.
