1 dead in crash at Cemetery Road and Dana Road in Buckingham

The Florida Highway Patrol said a person died in a two-vehicle crash on Cemetery Road at Dana Road in Buckingham on Wednesday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at around 6:40 p.m., a Nissan Kicks, driven by a 27-year-old man, was traveling west on Cemetery Road, approaching Dana Road.

At the same time, a Chevrolet Suburban, driven by a 43-year-old man, was traveling east on Cemetery Road, just past Dana Road.

The Nissan crossed the center line of the road and entered the direct path of the Chevrolet, FHP said. The vehicles then crashed head-on into each other.

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said. The passengers in the Nissan, as well as the driver and passengers of the Chevrolet, sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital.

FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
