Man dies at hospital after shooting in Tampa; investigation underway

Deputies in Hillsborough County are investigating after a man died at a hospital on Thursday following a shooting in Tampa.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received reports of a shooting just before 6 p.m. in the 8200 block of Woodgate Court.

They arrived to find an unresponsive man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a hospital, but later died from his injuries, according to authorities.

Officials have not yet released the man’s name, and investigators were still working Thursday to determine what led up to the shooting. It’s unclear if detectives have any leads on a possible suspect.
