A transport van crashed into a pole along East Hallandale Beach Boulevard Friday afternoon, prompting authorities to shut down eastbound lanes in the area.

According to Hallandale Beach police, the crash was reported in the area of East Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Northeast 10th Avenue.

As a result of the investigation, all eastbound lanes of Hallandale Beach Boulevard at Federal Highway are closed.

Police have not released information about what caused the crash, whether anyone was injured or how many vehicles were involved.

“Our priority right now is ensuring the safety of everyone involved, supporting emergency response efforts, and allowing investigators to safely and thoroughly determine the circumstances surrounding the crash,” the department said in a statement.

Authorities are asking drivers to avoid the area, use alternate routes and expect delays while the investigation remains active.
