Alachua Police investigate stabbing, school temporarily secured

Police officers are investigating a stabbing that occurred near a school in the city of Alachua on Thursday afternoon.

City of Alachua Police Department officers say that, out of an abundance of caution, Mebane Middle School was placed on secure status due to a crime that occurred near campus.

Officers say a man was stabbed during a domestic dispute on Northwest 167th Place. Officers detained the persons of interest in the case.
