Child seriously injured by lawnmower in Auburndale

A child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a lawnmower incident in Auburndale on Wednesday.

Auburndale police responded to a “pediatric medical emergency” in the area of Melton Avenue and Derby Avenue West.

They later confirmed that the child suffered lacerations from a lawnmower at another person’s home.

“At this time, this incident is not being investigated as a crime, and no further information will be released,” police said.

The child was flown to a hospital via Aero Med.
