Teen on electric scooter airlifted to hospital after Coral Springs crash

A teen on an electric scooter was airlifted to the hospital after they were involved in a crash in Coral Springs on Wednesday, officials said.

The crash happened around 2:50 p.m. in the area of Woodside Drive and Northwest 35th Court.

Coral Springs Police said the 14-year-old was riding the electric scooter and was crossing Woodside Drive when he was struck by a silver Hyundai sedan.

Coral Springs Fire Rescue officials said they responded to a report of a vehicle and electric scooter colliding and found the injured juvenile.

Broward Air Rescue airlifted the teen to Broward Health as a trauma alert, officials said. Police said he suffered a head injury but was later reported to be in stable condition.

Aerial images from Chopper 6 showed the scooter on the ground and a sedan nearby with damage to its windshield.
