Woman struck, killed while lying on I-95 in Volusia County, troopers say

A woman lying on I-95 in Volusia County was struck and killed by a semi-truck Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The semi-truck was traveling northbound in the outside lane when it collided with the woman. After the collision, the truck jackknifed, troopers said.

The woman, whose identity is pending confirmation by the medical examiner’s office, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck was not transported and remained on the scene following the incident.
