Car crashes into Fort Myers printing business on Fowler Street, driver injured

Fort Myers police responded to Royal Crest Printing on Wednesday morning after a car crashed into the business.

According to FMPD, officers responded to the printing business at around 6:44 a.m. Gulf Coast News crews on the scene were told by an officer that the driver had been traveling northbound on Fowler Street and tried to avoid another vehicle in front of them.

The driver swerved out of the way and crashed through the front of the building, FMPD said. Video from the scene shows the car fully inside the building, having crashed through the glass front of the business.

One person was inside the business when the crash happened, and the driver sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital, FMPD said. No foul play is suspected and no arrests were made.

The worker inside told Gulf Coast News that he stopped the driver from running away, but the two others car took off.

FMPD said the crash is still under investigation.
