2 Lake Placid students injured after truck hits stopped school bus

Two Highlands County students suffered minor injuries after a truck hit their stopped school bus on Tuesday.

The crash happened on US-27 at Gould Road in Venus shortly after 7:30 a.m., according to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office.

The box truck clipped the rear corner of the bus and was then rear-ended by a semi-truck. Neither driver was injured.

The school bus was carrying 12 students from Lake Placid middle and high schools.
