A couple was injured Saturday when a car crashed through the front windows of a hair salon at St. Johns Town Center, leaving one pinned between the vehicle and the reception counter.
A and her husband, S, had just finished getting their haircuts at Zinke Hair Studio when the car barreled inside. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment.
“We heard this loud crash, and then turned our heads, and suddenly, a car is just going right toward us,” Asaid. “We had no time to react.”
The impact knocked A down and pinned S. He said one arm was free, and he yelled for her to move back, worried the driver might keep accelerating.
“I was afraid she would just continue accelerating and get further damage,” he said.
A recorded video moments after the crash. She said the experience felt unreal.
“Physically, we are sore, we are hurting,” she said. “We’re still just trying to process everything emotionally. It was just so traumatizing for us, not only for us, but our family and friends.”
S said they were thankful to be alive.
“We’re still here to try to continue doing more good in my life,” he said.
The couple said they are still waiting for answers about what caused the driver to crash into the salon.
