Pedestrian critically injured in Port Orange crash

A pedestrian was critically injured Friday afternoon in a crash in Port Orange, according to the Port Orange Police Department.

Police said Marguerite Cuomo, 84, was hit around 2:16 p.m. near the Publix located on Taylor Road in Port Orange.

She was taken to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, police said.

The department reported said driver of the vehicle is being cooperative with the investigation and no criminal charges are currently pending. No other persons or vehicles were involved, according to the release.
