Fire crews were able to contain a fire that erupted in a building and spread to multiple vehicles.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the fire just before 10p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Northwest 54th Street in the Brownsville neighborhood of Northwest Miami-Dade.

7News cameras captured flames shooting out of the windows and thick smoke billowing from the roof as firefighters strategized their fire attack tactic.

7News spoke to a man who lives next door and he said about eight people in his apartment were evacuated due to the fierce flames.

The fire initially started inside the building but quickly spread to cars that were parked in front of the building.

Records show that a business, Five Star Auto Service, operates inside the building. It’s unclear if any of the cars that were damaged belonged to any customers.

Officials said the fire is under control.

The cause of the fire, as well as any injuries or the extent of the damages, are still unclear.
