Florida Highway Patrol confirmed at least one person died in a crash in Hendry County Monday night.
Troopers were dispatched to the scene near Port LaBelle at 8:56 p.m. Troopers arrived on scene three minutes later. According to the FHP crash map, eastbound SR-80 is blocked due to the crash. The crash happened near the intersection of SR-80 and Cedarwood Parkway.
Hendry County Sheriff’s Office is also on scene. According to their Facebook Page, traffic is being diverted via Birchwood Parkway. Deputies asked that drivers avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
As of 9:13 p.m., HCSO said, “it is anticipated the roadway will be closed for several hours.”
