Woman charged for Pensacola Beach parking lot fight captured in viral Facebook video

An 18-year-old woman is charged for a fight on Pensacola Beach Sunday afternoon that has since gone viral on social media.

VP was arrested Sunday evening on a battery charge. She was released from Escambia County Jail the same day on $1,000 bond.

The incident happened in the Mommy Beach parking lot on Pensacola Beach Boulevard.

A video on Facebook showing the physical altercation has garnered over 6.2 million views as of Tuesday morning.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the incident started with P holding a parking spot by standing in it.

Deputies say a verbal argument between P and another female eventually turned physical when Posey began hitting the victim.

“It started over a parking spot,” said Lt. JB with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. “The lady arrived to park, but [P] was standing in the spot holding it. So when she gets out to say, ‘Hey I’m trying to park here,’ an argument started — and then they started fighting over the parking spot.”

The viral Facebook video shows a woman in a pink outfit punching the victim numerous times — as well as pulling her hair — as the victim was on the ground. The video also shows two other females later get involved in the physical altercation.

The sheriff’s office is still working to identify other females involved.

No one else has been charged at this time.

No further details have been released.
