Bradenton fire destroys multiple vehicles

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – Steve Wilson said it looked like something out of a movie when he looked out his window early Sunday morning.

This, as flames shot high into the air along the 48-hundred block of Mineola Street in Bradenton.

Wilson began shooting cell phone video which he later shared with ABC 7, as he called 911.

It turned out to be a fire that destroyed a Kia, and Hyundai belonging to a nearby family.

“I’ve seen a lot of things, but nothing like that, “ Wilson added.

Fire victims said the flames started in one car, then quickly spread to another destroying both.

Investigators from Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue said everyone made it out okay, and there was no damage to the home, though the vehicles were parked only feet away.

“I’m just glad they’re okay, and I wish them only good luck with no cleaning up, and dealing with insurance companies, “ Wilson added.

A person living at the home said they’d had issues with one of the vehicles but never expected anything like this.

“It happened so fast, it was crazy, I was just trying to call 911, and make sure everyone was okay,” they said.

A total damage estimate is still being determined in the case.
