A truck caught fire on Florida’s Turnpike in St. Lucie County, causing delays on Thursday afternoon.

Florida 511 said the vehicle fire took place on the northbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike, before Mile Marker 150, near Fort Pierce.

Video from SLC Scanner, shows the truck in flames on the shoulder of the highway.

Traffic was backed up through Mile Marker 146 — near the Port St. Lucie/Fort Pierce Service Plaza — according to Florida 511.

As of 2:08 p.m., the right shoulder is currently blocked, according to Florida 511 Southeast.
