GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – One woman shot at a Gainesville park on Easter Sunday died in the hospital, according to police officers.
Gainesville Police Department officials say Ontaria Baisden, 20, was one of three people shot at the Easter egg hunt Sunday evening. She was in critical condition for days following the shooting, and died in the hospital.
Chestnut Funeral Homes officials announced Baisden’s death Friday. Sunday, Gainesville Police officers confirmed that Baisden was one of three people shot on Easter.
Police officers haven’t named any potential suspects, but they say the shooter was caught on camera. GPD officials also confirmed that the two other people injured in the shooting have since been released from the hospital.
“We are still vigorously investigating the incident and vetting all leads and information received. This is still an open and evolving investigation and we will share all relevant information at the appropriate time,” a GPD official said to TV20.
