What we know:
Officers with the Titusville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting around 4:17 a.m. at the intersection of Garden Street and South Grannis Avenue. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, officials said.
According to an arrest affidavit, the suspect, CW Jr., was standing at the corner of South Grannis Avenue and Garden Street in Titusville, talking with two people, when the victim approached them.
Police reported that W had a brief conversation with the victim and, during the conversation, W stepped back and fired a shot, causing the victim to fall to the ground.
W then allegedly stood over the victim and fired three more shots, striking him, before running off.
Within two hours, investigators identified and W in connection to the shooting. He is being held without bond at the Brevard County Detention Center.
According to the affidavit, W admitted to detectives that he shot the victim because he considered him a “bully” and claimed the victim had “threatened him.” W also believed the victim had been involved in a recent burglary with his father.
