One person is recovering in the hospital after a kitchen fire at a house in Hawthorne Sunday night.
Alachua County Fire Rescue officials say crews responded to reports of a house fire off of Southeast 215th Street just before 9 p.m.
Crews say they found a small two-story house with an active kitchen fire.
Officials say crews were able to put out the fire quickly.
One person was evaluated and taken to the hospital. Crews also rescued a dog, which was not injured.
ACFR officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
