All 6 suspects in custody after shooting during Facebook sale ambush in Charlotte County

All six suspects have been identified and are now in custody after a shooting during a Facebook sale ambush in Charlotte County Thursday.

The shooting was in the area of Nomad Road and Melville Road in the Deep Creek neighborhood.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the four suspects who were caught Thursday have been identified as I J. M, 21, CN, 16, SW, 16, and EW, 16. CCSO said they will all face charges of armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

CCSO said the victim who was shot and injured is expected to make a full recovery.

The other two suspects were J A.K.M, 18, and I M.H, 17, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies said a warrant for armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm had been issued for M. In addition, a juvenile pick up order with the same charges had been issued for Harris.

M and H turned themselves in Friday, according to CCSO.

There was an active scene with many deputies present on Explorer Road in Charlotte County Friday.

CCSO was seen on scene with guns drawn. More than a dozen deputies were at the scene.

Multiple law enforcement units were at the scene Thursday. Sheriff Bill P gave an update on CCSO’s Facebook account.

P said deputies received a call stating a person was shot in the neck. That person was rushed to the hospital after CCSO arrived.

According to the sheriff, investigators learned two brothers set up a sale on Facebook and went to meet the buyers at the location.

The brothers were then approached by six people who surrounded their car. P said one of the individuals got in the back of the car and grabbed the driver around the neck.

Two of the six individuals then pulled out firearms, and during the struggle, a firearm was fired at least twice, striking a victim and one of the suspects, P said.
