Apopka police cruiser runs stop sign, crashes into vehicle, FHP says

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving an Apopka police cruiser that allegedly ran a stop sign and collided with a Honda Civic.

Troopers said the crash happened at the intersection of Clarcona Road and 13th Street in Apopka.

The officer involved was not hurt and stayed at the scene while the 20-year-old driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries.

FHP officials said the police officer was not responding to a call at the time of the crash.
