Bicyclist dies after crash on Goldenrod Road in Orange County

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a bicyclist died from a crash on Goldenrod Road Saturday night.

According to FHP, the crash happened around 8:14 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Barksdale Drive. Troopers said a bicyclist traveling east across the southbound lanes of Goldenrod failed to observe a Honda Odyssey and hit the right side of the minivan. After hitting the minivan, the bicyclist continued traveling east and was hit by a GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The bicyclist, a 29-year-old man, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died later that night.

The drivers of both the Honda and GMC remained on scene.

There is no crosswalk at the intersection.
