The Florida Highway Patrol said a bicyclist was killed and another was injured after a car hit them in Columbia County on Tuesday afternoon.
Officials said at about 1:08 p.m., a car was traveling west on Northwest Lake Jeffery Road and collided with the two bicyclists, a woman, 51, and a man, 72, on the same road traveling in the same direction.
FHP said the woman died at the scene and the man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
They were both wearing helmets.
