Bottle thrown, victim punched during Naples road rage incident

A man was arrested on Tuesday following a reported road rage incident in Naples, where he was accused of throwing a bottle at another car.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the incident occurred on May 19 at around 5:52 p.m. The victim told deputies he was leaving the Grand Buffet in Naples when he was cut off in the parking lot by a silver pickup being driven by T, 42, the report said.

The victim said he and T got into a verbal argument before exiting the parking lot and turning onto Tamiami Trail East. As the two vehicles were traveling down the road, T got in front of the victim’s vehicle and started brake checking him in an attempt to make the victim crash, the report said.

T then threw a bottle from his truck at the victim’s vehicle, the report said. The victim told deputies the bottle didn’t hit his vehicle, but that its contents splashed on the windshield.

The vehicles then came to a stop at a red light, which is when T got out of his truck, walked up to the victim’s vehicle, which had its window open, and punched the victim in the face through the open window, the report said.

On Tuesday, following an investigation where deputies were able to confirm T was the driver of the truck, they arrested T at his home.

T faces a charge of burglary with battery.
