A woman riding an e-bike was airlifted to a hospital after she was in a crash with a vehicle on Marco Island.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Marco Island police, fire crews, and Collier County Emergency Medical Services responded to the intersection of Holly Court and North Collier Boulevard.
According to the Marco Island Police Department, the woman suffered serious injuries, and a medical helicopter transported her to a local trauma center for treatment. The driver of the vehicle involved was not injured in the crash.
MIPD said the cause of the crash is under investigation, and the roadway was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
Police asked anyone who witnessed the crash or has information, photos, or video to contact MIPD at (239)389-5050. An additional update will be shared at a later time once the investigation has concluded, MIPD said.
