A boy died and six other teens were injured in a crash on Interstate-4 late Wednesday night.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash in the eastbound lanes of I-4 near Dover just before 11 p.m.
A Dodge SUV collided with a Cadillac CTS while changing lanes. The impact caused both vehicles to rotate onto the shoulder, where the Cadillac overturned and the Dodge struck a culvert.
The Dodge’s driver, a 16-year-old boy from Temple Terrace, suffered minor injuries. A passenger in the Dodge, a 16-year-old boy from Tampa, died at the site of the crash. The other occupants of the Dodge, a 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy from Tampa, were seriously injured.
The Cadillac’s driver, a 17-year-old boy from Tampa, was not hurt. His passengers, two 16-year-old boys from Seffner and a 16-year-old girl from Tampa, suffered minor injuries.
