Car crashes into Marion County home, leaving driver injured.

A car crashed into an Ocala home on Tuesday night, leaving the driver injured, according to Marion County Fire Rescue.

In a release, fire officials said the crash happened in the 4400 block of NW 78th Avenue around 8 p.m.

While the homeowner called 911 to report the crash, it was unknown whether anyone was trapped inside of the car, the release says.

Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly afterward, finding the car inside the home, which had suffered heavy damage, fire officials added.

According to investigators, the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries have been reported, the release shows.

No additional information has been provided at this time, including the cause of the crash.
