A woman pushing a baby in a stroller died after a dump truck ran her over on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood early Wednesday afternoon.

The baby was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

The crash happened just before 1 p.m. at the Northeast 22nd Street intersection.

According to Miami police, the woman died after being pinned underneath the truck.

The baby was “alert and crying” after the crash, according to a Miami Police Department spokesperson.

Images from Sky 10 showed a crushed stroller on the road next to the dump truck.

Authorities closed a portion of Biscayne Boulevard as they investigated the crash.

Police haven’t publicly identified the woman or said whether the truck driver will face any citations or charges.

An MPD spokesperson was expected to provide additional details at the scene Wednesday afternoon.

This is a developing story.
