Cape Coral police are searching for a man, missing after his brother died Tuesday, apparently shot in the head, Cape Coral Police Chief Anthony Sizemore said. Sizemore said that emergency services responded at about 1:50 p.m. to a home in the Northwest section of the city, where the caller said a man, identified as Francis G. Tolbert, 71, was in cardiac arrest. Police responded as backup to Lee County EMS, as is standard procedure. Tolbert had a faint pulse, Sizemore said,

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot twice while walking down Moncrief Road West. According to detectives, at around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the area and located a man in his 20s with 2 gunshot wounds. A man in his late-30s is recovering at a local hospital after he was shot while riding in a car in Jacksonville’s Argyle Forest area Thursday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Multiple vehicles collided Thursday morning on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach Gardens near Donald Ross Road.  The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-95, and authorities have closed off three lanes.  Traffic is backed up about a mile south of the incident as of about 6 a.m., according to Florida 511.  The Florida Highway Patrol is urging caution in the area, and detours are recommended.  Alternative routes include Florida’s Turnpike or North Military Trial.
