The Florida Highway Patrol said at around 5:33 p.m., a 54-year-old man from Lutz was driving his Ford F-150 down the Selmon Expressway when he suffered the ppisode west of 21st Street. Bear seemingly shot to death in Apopka, leading to dead-end investigation

Photo by: (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission) A bear was found dead earlier this month in Apopka after having suffered an apparent gunshot wound, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. In an incident report released on Tuesday, FWC officials said they received a call about an injured bear near Foxden Road on June 6. Investigators said they arrived at the scene around 11 p.m., finding the bear’s body but without any immediately obvious cause of death.

Bond denied for man charged with 2nd-degree murder in shooting of 15-year-old boy in Florida City

An 18-year-old man who was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Florida City appeared before a judge. Jeron Smith was charged with second-degree murder after, Miami-Dade Police said, he confessed to shooting and killing Damarion Bailey. Four minors were arrested and now face charges for shooting buildings and cars with “Orbeez” guns, according to Daytona Beach Police. Orbeez guns shoot tiny, jelly-like water beads.
