In an incident report released on Tuesday, FWC officials said they received a call about an injured bear near Foxden Road on June 6. Investigators said they arrived at the scene around 11 p.m., finding the bear’s body but without any immediately obvious cause of death.

An 18-year-old man who was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Florida City appeared before a judge. Jeron Smith was charged with second-degree murder after, Miami-Dade Police said, he confessed to shooting and killing Damarion Bailey. During his court appearance on Monday, a judge denied Smith bond. Three people are recovering from injuries after a group of five dogs attacked them Saturday morning, Osceola Animal Services says.  The attack happened around 10 a.m. on Saturday near a neighborhood by Chisholm Park.  Two of the five dogs were killed after they were shot by people living in the area, and a third was taken into Animal Services’ custody. Four minors were arrested and now face charges for shooting buildings and cars with “Orbeez” guns, according to Daytona Beach Police. Orbeez guns shoot tiny, jelly-like water beads. They can be bought at many retailers. It may sound like child’s play to some, but law enforcement officials say misusing these toys is a battery offense. Depending on the injuries or damage done, those caught abusing Orbeez guns can face felony charges, said Orlando Rolon, retired police chief for Orlando PD.
