The search for a dangerous dog in Gainesville is now over. Officials with Alachua County say the dog is now in the county’s custody after attacking its owner near the Bivens Cove Apartments on Southwest 13th Street on Tuesday. A man was hospitalized on Christmas Day after Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies say he was shot in the head. Sheriff’s deputies arrested JM, 53, in connection with the shooting on Cullen Avenue in Fort White. A man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly fatally stabbed a woman, unprovoked, inside a Barnes & Noble store in Palm Beach Gardens. Officers responded at around 7:53 p.m. to the book store on 11380 Legacy Avenue, where they found the victim unresponsive with “a knife imbedded in her back,” according to an arrest report.
