A Plantation High School student was hospitalized on Monday after he was shot near the school, Broward School Board officials said. According to Plantation Police, officers responded to the area of Northwest 70th Avenue and 16th Street after receiving reports of a shooting. Police said the incident appeared to have started with a fight involving two juveniles that ended with one of them being shot. Orange County deputies arrested a man in connection with the stabbing death of 45-year-old DeGwendolyn “Gwen” Floyd in her Pine Hills home. A 57-year-old homeless man is facing an attempted first-degree murder charge after Miami police said he severely beat another man lying on a downtown sidewalk early Friday morning. A 35-year-old Crestview man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Okaloosa County on Monday.
