A 65-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday evening after crashing into a parked road ranger pickup truck and an SUV on the Dames Point Bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. According to FHP, around 7:25 p.m., the motorcyclist was traveling northbound within the outside lane approaching a parked road ranger pickup truck with active amber lights and a directional board. – A 5-year-old child died after falling from a pickup truck on private property in Columbia County. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 39-year-old Lake City man was driving the vehicle on NW Brook Loop when the child fell from the outside of the truck. A man was hit and killed by a tractor-trailer on the Florida Turnpike in Southwest Miami-Dade, authorities said. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the pedestrian tried running across the highway near Southwest Eighth Street when he was hit, at around 6:25 a.m. on Saturday. He died as a result of his injuries. Four southbound lanes were shut down during the investigation but have since reopened. A shootout that left a Broward Sheriff’s deputy and a suspect hospitalized on Thursday began with a theft at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, authorities said. The shootout unfolded in a Margate neighborhood and although the deputy was shot, he was saved by his bulletproof vest, BSO officials said. According to Seminole Police, the incident began Thursday morning when the suspect, identified as CR, grabbed cash from the hand of a patron at the casino. BSO officials said they
