Responding to a residential fire on Friday night, St. Lucie County deputies and fire personnel found a deceased person with blunt force trauma injuries near Fort Pierce. The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office has launched a homicide investigation. At approximately 8:10 p.m., Patrol Operations Bureau deputies and St. Lucie County Fire Department went to the 600 block of South Market Avenue, west of U.S. Route 1.
