 Panama City Beach Police responded to a fatal motorcycle crash in front of Alvin’s Island on 9401 Thomas Drive early Saturday morning. Preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Thomas Drive when it left the roadway into the Alvin’s Island parking lot for unknown reasons. According to a news release, the motorcycle struck a curb, ejected the driver, and came to a final rest on the southeast end of the parking lot. The driver sustained serious head trauma.

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for the driver who fled from a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist and his passenger in Brevard County overnight. According to FHP, the crash happened around 12:17 a.m. on State Road 520 near Clearlake Road.
