A hit-and-run crash on Tuesday evening left one motorcyclist in the hospital, according to the Port Orange Police Department. Police said that the crash happened around 8:15 p.m. near the 1700 block of Dunlawton Avenue. At the time, an unidentified SUV struck two motorcyclists in the westbound lanes of Dunlawton Avenue before fleeing the scene, police added. “As a result of the crash, one of the motorcyclists was transported to the hospital as a trauma alert,” the release reads.  A 20-year-old man is accused of kidnapping and brutally attacking a woman as she slept at a bus stop in Miami, police confirmed. It happened around 10:15 p.m. Monday near Northwest 12th Avenue. A man said he was stabbed early Wednesday by a roommate at what appears to be a group home in Lauderhill, according to police. Lauderhill police said they responded to the home in the area of Northwest 26th Street and Northwest 44th at around 4:19 a.m., after they got calls from occupants and the victim himself about being stabbed by a roommate. Officials say the incident took place in the 6300 block of Lake Charlene Terrace at 8:53 a.m. Escambia County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene to find an active fire originating from the garage of the two-story house. ECFR managed to bring the fire under control by 9:40 a.m. and fully extinguished it by 9:49 a.m., according to officials. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

The county said the incident was described as a “High Life Hazard Structure Fire.” According to reports, there was visible smoke coming for inside the school building. Everyone in the building at the time were evacuated as precaution. Firefighters said they saw a haze and smelled smoke upon entering the building. Crews found a burned electrical junction box with no active flames. They secured the building’s
