A 20-year-old Orlando woman was killed Thursday night when her motorcycle crashed on State Road 417 in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The fatal single-vehicle wreck happened around 9:10 p.m. on S.R. 417 north at Lee Vista Boulevard. The FHP said the woman was operating a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja when she lost control of the bike and struck a guardrail. The woman was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an FHP crash report.

While Osceola County Fire Rescue was fighting a fire at a scrap yard on Thursday, they were called out to another fire about five minutes down the road. It was a shed fire in the area of Orange Vista Boulevard. “We came out here and saw nothing but smoke coming from the back,” said Thomas Peters, who lives in the neighborhood. Osceola County Fire Rescue said it was a shed fire and they were able to get it out quickly.

A girl was hit by a Pasco County Sheriff’s vehicle while riding her bicycle in Hudson Wednesday afternoon, officials said. The incident happened just after 6 p.m. at the intersection of Little Road and Fivay Road, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office said one of its deputies was turning onto Little Road from Fivay Road when the deputy hit a girl riding her bicycle. First responders spoke with witnesses at the scene, and assessed the girl
