It happened just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday near Little River Drive and Northwest 12th Court, in the county’s unincorporated Pinewood area. “We were having dinner sitting at the counter, watching TV, talking,” the victim, who did not want to be identified, said. A person riding a scooter was killed Saturday morning in a crash with a garbage truck. Earlier in the morning, authorities closed the intersection of State Road 84 and South Federal Highway. A man has reportedly barricaded himself in a home in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood following a shooting at a shopping plaza in Lauderdale Lakes that sent a man to the hospital. Two children were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Santa Rosa County on Friday night. Troopers say the crash occured on Interstate 10 eastbound near Ward Basin Road in Milton around 8:24 p.m. when a SUV driven by a 40-year-old Tallahassee man veered off the road and collided with a tree before catching fire.  A woman was killed late Friday night in a hit-and-run in a St. Petersburg neighborhood, the police department said.
