The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving two motorcycles and another vehicle which temporarily closed U.S. 41 near Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. According to FHP, the crash occurred at around 11 p.m. on Thursday, when the motorcycles were traveling southbound when one attempted to pop a wheelie, leading the driver to lose control. A pedestrian was injured Thursday afternoon in a hit-and-run crash in Cocoa, according to the police department. The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Indian River Drive. A minor was flown to the hospital after he was shot early Friday in Southwest Miami-Dade, according to the sheriff’s office. It happened at around 3:46 a.m. in a residential area near Southwest 140th Place and Southwest 280th Street in the Leisure City neighborhood. Authorities said they received a call about a person yelling, and when deputies arrived, they found the victim “‘lying on the ground with apparent gunshot(s) wounds.” The minor was flown to the hospital in critical condition.

 A man died Friday morning after he was shot multiple times in the Brentwood neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. A man was shot Friday morning after attempting to force his way into a home and threatening the people inside, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said. HCSO responded to a home on the 3400 block of Gentry Road around 1:39 a.m. regarding a domestic complaint. The driver crashed into the canal near Avon Lane and West McNab Road, according to the North Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department.
