The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a 49-year-old man died on Thursday night after his mini-bike crashed into the back of a box truck on the city’s Northside. Police said the crash took place just after 8 p.m. near Mays Street and 45th Street. According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the shooting at Lee Boulevard and Gunnery Road is under investigation and the parties involved knew each other. The School District of Lee County said Sunshine Elementary School and Tortuga Preserve Elementary School were on 'secure status' with no one allowed in, but operations continued as normal. The secures have been lifted at both schools.
