A man is seriously injured after he was struck by a pickup truck Saturday afternoon. The Florida Highway Patrol said a young man was walking north along the left side of North Golfview Rd at around 5:40 p.m. A Toyota pickup truck was traveling north when it suddenly entered the southbound lane, struck the pedestrian and continued without stopping.  A man was arrested in connection with a Sarasota shooting that occurred Sunday and is still being investigated, according to the Sarasota Police Department. At 3:15 a.m., SPD responded to the 1100 block of North Washington Boulevard, where preliminary information indicates that a fight broke out between several groups of people. The semi veered off the road and into the bushes around 3:30 p.m. Since then, crews have been working to remove the truck from the woodline. As of 6:50 p.m., the ramp remained closed. A 66-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Greenbriar Boulevard in Lehigh Acres Saturday night. Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened at 8:30 p.m.  A pickup truck, possibly a white Toyota Tundra from 2014 to 2021, struck the woman as she walked along the north edge of the road, according to FHP. Florida Fish and Wildlife said one person is dead after a jet ski crash near Captiva Pass in Lee County. On Saturday, FWC along with multiple other agencies, responded to the scene of a two-vessel incident.
