A driver was arrested early Friday morning after striking a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy’s unmarked vehicle in southwest Miami-Dade and then fleeing the scene, authorities said. According to MDSO, the incident occurred just after 2:20 a.m. in the area of Krome Avenue and Southwest 184th Street. Deputies said after fleeing the scene, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a second car. The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said the plane crashed into a fence as the pilot was attempting to take off. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a young teenager died on Thursday afternoon after being hit by a pickup truck while walking across a street on Jacksonville’s Northside. Police said the crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on Biscayne Boulevard when a Toyota pickup truck, which was headed northbound on the roadway, hit the teen. Massive flames and a plume of smoke could be seen billowing from a home on North Captiva Island on Wednesday afternoon. A man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Royal Palm Beach on Thursday morning. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Davy Ford, 67, was driving eastbound on Okeechobee Boulevard near Royal Palm Beach Community High School when he crossed over the median onto the westbound lanes of travel.
