The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said an educational behavioral assistant at W.E. Cherry Elementary School was recently arrested for kicking a student three times after the child kicked her. A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Wawa at Colonial Boulevard and State Road 82 in Fort Myers. The incident happened on Aug. 6 at approximately 3:24 p.m. when an altercation between teens escalated into a shooting. Shortly after 9 a.m. Aug. 27, Nokomis firefighters were dispatched to Maple Street for a house reportedly smoking.
