Rider thrown from motorcycle in crash on 9B dies: Florida Highway Patrol

A 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night in a crash on State Road 9B near I-95, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the motorcyclist, who is from Staten Island, New York, was headed south on 9B around 9:30 p.m. when he was hit from behind by a car, which was being driven by an 18-year-old from Erving, Massachusetts. The impact threw the rider off the motorcycle and sent the bike sliding down the road on its left side.

A 63-year-old man was arrested Monday after a shooting was reported at a business in Pompano Beach, the Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
