Ocala Fire Rescue crews responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Southwest 44th Avenue and Southwest 20th Street just before 9 p.m. Crews say both vehicles, a black sedan and a silver sedan, sustained heavy front-end damage. Fire rescue officials say the driver and passenger of the black sedan were taken to the hospital for further evaluation. No other injuries were reported.

A driver was arrested early Friday morning after striking a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy’s unmarked vehicle in southwest Miami-Dade and then fleeing the scene, authorities said.
