 Investigators say they identified the driver in a December Boynton Beach hit-and-run that killed a 60-year-old Jupiter man. On Friday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) arrested 54-year-old JR after cell phone records, biological material, and vehicle damage connected him to the scene. On December 21, 2024, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said 60-year-old Robert Elsmore was pushing an empty wheelchair when struck from behind while walking near the 6000 block of Old Congress Road around 2 a.m.

Police are investigating what they described as a domestic shooting in Miami that sent a man to the hospital and led officers to take the victim’s son into custody. City of Miami Police units responded to the scene of the incident in the area of Northwest 48th Court and Second Street, just after 9 p.m. on Saturday. According to detectives, a man in his 20s allegedly shot his father. Paramedics with Miami Fire Rescue transported the victim in critical condition.

Authorities said they are investigating an overnight police-involved shooting in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood that left two people dead, including an armed subject, and a third person injured. A 25-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition after hit by a pickup truck in Pensacola Friday afternoon. Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened at approximately 3:36 p.m. near Olive Road. The Pensacola motorcyclist was exiting a parking lot at 1436 Olive Road when he lost control while making a right turn. A 50-year Molino man driving the pickup truck was approaching Olive Road as the motorcycle overturned. His truck and its trailer “traveled over the motorcyclist,” according to troopers.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:40 a.m. on the northbound side of Highway 29, situated between Cox Road and Sigler Road, north of McDavid. Firefighters were required to extricate the mail carrier from their vehicle following the crash, according to deputies. Both drivers were subsequently transported to local hospitals by Newman’s Ambulance and Escambia County EMS.

The Tampa Police Department said it is investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning. Officers responded to reports of shots fired on Adamo Drive at around 3 a.m. and found a deceased man. The incident appears to have happened outside a strip club. Police say there was an altercation between two men, who knew each other, before shots were fired.
