Officials with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) said that all southbound lanes of US 441, or Southwest 13th Street, were closed down due to a car crash. On Florida511’s traffic camera, we saw the crash appear to have happened in front of the Circle K on 13th Street. FHP troopers said they were called to the scene around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday and arrived about five minutes later. ASO

One person is in the hospital after a small plane crashed near Ocala International Airport Wednesday night. Ocala Fire Rescue workers tell TV20 that the plane went down around 9:30 p.m. along Southwest 67th Avenue outside of the airport property. The plane crash-landed without hitting any structures. Ocala Police officers say the pilot of the plane was the only person on board and had to be extricated from the wreckage and was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert.

A terrifying fall on the job in Fort Lauderdale sent a construction worker to the hospital. According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, the man was working on Galt Ocean Drive when he fell five stories onto a scaffolding, Wednesday morning. Authorities are investigating what they described as a deputy-involved shooting in Deerfield Beach that left a woman dead and a deputy injured. A kindergarten teacher at IDEA River Bluff School in Arlington was arrested Tuesday following an incident that happened in her classroom. T B, 39, faced five counts of child abuse without great bodily harm and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to B’s redacted arrest report, the incident involved multiple victims and multiple witnesses. It said that one of the witnesses told police that B became stressed out when a victim did not listen to her.

A 3-year-old and a 30-year-old were both injured after they were struck by a vehicle at West Cypress Avenue and 5th Street in Fort Myers Shores. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Orange County involving two vehicles on Tuesday night. At approximately 7:06 p.m., a 2012 Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on 18th Street west of Woods Street. A Chrysler Pacifica was parked unoccupied facing west on 18th Street west of Woods Street. A Leesburg woman was arrested on a warrant for battery Thursday after allegedly hitting her cousin with a baton during an argument at her home.  On the morning of April 27, deputies with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a battery at 804 Montclair Rd., Leesburg, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County. Upon arrival, they found 44-year-old MDF seated outside the front door and covered in blood which seemed to be coming from her head.

A driver was injured after a crash with a Miami-Dade school bus in Medley on Wednesday, officials said. Medley Police said the school bus was pulling out of a depot near Northwest 87th Avenue and Northwest 100th Street when the driver of a Nissan sedan crashed into the bus.
